Purpose
There are a gaggle of very powerful and very useful free .NET tools and
pre-built applications available. Unfortunately, many .NET developers do not
utilize these community-built tools due to simply not knowing about them. This
site strives to introduce free tools and applications to .NET developers
world-wide.
.NET Toolbox is a community-run site - it's worth can only grow with the
help of readers like you! You can help make this site more valuable by leaving
well thought out comments and ratings for various tools. Also, if you know of a
free tool or pre-built application that is not listed on in the Toolbox's
listings, feel free to submit a review.
The Site's Beginnings
This site began in August 2003 by the suggestion of
Steve Smith. The actual Web site was built by
Scott Mitchell on a hot Friday. Many suggested enhancements have been
made by Erik Porter and
James Avery. The reviews and comments are made possible by the
site's visitors. The main contributors to the reviews and back-end source
code have been, thus far:
